Privacy & data use
Privacy Policy
Last updated July 9, 2026.
First Class Match LLC (“First Class,” “we,” “us”) is a private, invitation-only matchmaking service. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and services. By using First Class, you agree to this policy; where we rely on your consent (including for sensitive information), we ask for it separately.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us and a limited amount created through your use of the service:
- Application & profile information — name, contact details, age, location, occupation, photos, physical description, lifestyle, and relationship preferences you enter in your application or questionnaire.
- Sensitive information — if you choose to provide it, details such as ethnicity, religion, and political views. These fields are optional; you may always select “Prefer not to answer.” We process them only with your explicit consent.
- Identity & background verification — to keep the community safe, we verify members through our provider Persona. This involves a photo of a government ID, a selfie image, and screening against public watchlists / sex-offender records. The selfie may be processed as biometric information solely to confirm your identity; it is handled by Persona and not used for any other purpose.
- Payment information — membership payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited billing details, but we never store your full payment-card number.
- Communications — messages you exchange with your matchmaker or, after a mutual match, with another member through the service.
- Technical & usage information — a strictly necessary session cookie that keeps you signed in, plus basic server logs. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To review your application, vet applicants, and operate our concierge matchmaking service.
- To identify and arrange thoughtful introductions, and to help our matchmakers curate matches.
- To verify identity and screen for safety before members are introduced.
- To process membership payments and keep billing records.
- To send you service messages by email and, if you provide a mobile number, by SMS.
- To maintain the security of the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
Where you choose to provide sensitive details (such as ethnicity, religion, or political views), we use them — with your explicit consent — to assess compatibility, and members and matchmakers may filter or match on them within the service. These fields are always optional, and selecting “Prefer not to answer” never counts against you.
Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service); your consent (including explicit consent for sensitive and biometric information, and for SMS alerts); our legitimate interests (to run, secure, and improve the service); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, though doing so may mean we can no longer offer introductions.
How we share information
Your profile is never public and never visible outside the service. We share information only as follows:
- With our internal matchmaking team, in confidence.
- Within the vetted membership — a woman's profile (her first name, photos, and the attributes she provides) is visible to accepted, verified members inside the service; a man's introduction card (first name, age, city, occupation, photos, a few personal facts, and his note) is shown only to women he selects. Full names, contact details, employers, and financial information are never shown to other members.
- With the service providers listed below, who process data on our behalf under contract.
- When required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members, the public, or our service.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.
Service providers
We rely on the following processors:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Persona | Identity verification and background / watchlist screening | Government ID, a selfie image, and identity details |
| Stripe | Membership payment processing | Billing details and payment-card data (handled by Stripe; we never store card numbers) |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Email address and message contents |
| Twilio | Transactional SMS alerts (only if you provide a mobile number) | Mobile number and message contents |
| Amazon Web Services (S3) | Secure storage of profile photos | Photos you upload |
How long we keep it
We retain your information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward for our legitimate business and legal records. When you ask us to delete it, we remove it promptly, except for limited information we are required to retain by law (for example, payment records). Members may delete their own account at any time from their dashboard.
How we protect it
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, sessions are protected by httpOnly cookies, and access to member data is limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and will notify you and regulators of a material breach as required by law.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@firstclass.example. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
EU/UK residents: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, though we hope you will contact us first.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data there and in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
Children
First Class is strictly for adults. The service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above; material changes will be communicated to members.
